JAMES LEWIS MEAGHER, JR. SENTENCED TO EIGHTEEN YEARS INCARCERATION FOR SEX ABUSE OF A MINOR

On August 7, 2012, James Lewis Meagher, Jr., age sixty-three, of Salisbury, Maryland was sentenced to eighteen years active incarceration and seven years of suspended incarceration for the sex abuse of a minor. The Defendant was also sentenced to an additional ten years of incarceration for other crimes charged by the State to be served concurrently. The Honorable Judge Beckstead accepted a plea of guilt to the top count of the indictment, sex abuse of a minor and two counts of possession of child pornography.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Child Advocacy Center, Child Protective Services and Detective Seichepine of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case. Mr. Maciarello also thanked Assistant State’s Attorney Pamela Correa, who prosecuted this case.
