GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) - A Georgetown pediatrician and his wife have been charged with recklessly endangering their two daughters, including the use of a form of discipline that police say the man called "waterboarding."

State police say 58-year-old Melvin Morse and his 40-year-old wife, Pauline Morse, were arrested Tuesday.

Another religious nut case.

Religious does not come to mind, more New Age way of thinking to me.

Another Beau Biden at the wheel situation. Time for him to move on considering Bradley.

I don't know why you insist on calling him a total religious nut.

He is one to the top pediatricians in this country. Written books, appeared on t.v. such as Oprah and others.

There is at least one more side to this story. And with the Bradley case still fresh in everyone's mind, I'm sure that influences people's thoughts about this incident.

I think I'll wait for the facts to come out. I don't think it is as bad as it's being made out to be, but we shall see.

I think you have issues with religion and that is clouding your thinking. But that's just an opinion.

11:07- One FACT is, he tourtured his child by waterboarding her. No matter how shocked you are that an individual you respected was arrested for abuse, you cant really think that is acceptable in ANY circumstace can you? Waterboarding is considered tourture when it is done to grown adult prisioners. This was done to a CHILD. The psychological damage she suffered will NEVER be overcome. Your defense of this man may be seen by some as condoning such horrible actions. Im sure thats not what you intended.

I've googled him and read up and I agree with he is more New Age (mysticism, reincarnation, etc) and not religious at all. No mention of God or heaven. He has been labeled as a New Age Guru. He's also been described as having pantheistic views. He is into "remote viewing" and the paranormal.
Definitely without a doubt can anyone say he is religious.

I don't think Morse can be labeled a "top pediatrician" in the true sense of the meaning. Though I'm sure he did accomplish much with his practice, his major claim to fame is the books he has written on children's near death experiences and that was why he made TV appearances and not because of the great things he did medically.

Appeared on Oprah? Well I take back what I said. That does make him a leader.

NO such thing. It is an allegation. Coming from an 11 year old.

No matter how shocked you are that an individual you respected was arrested for abuse, you cant really think that is acceptable in ANY circumstace can you?

Who said I respected him or anyone else besides you? You deal more in assumptions and allegations that 'FACT'.

. The psychological damage she suffered will NEVER be overcome.

There has not been any damaged alleged much less 'proven' that I am aware of.

Your defense of this man may be seen by some as condoning such horrible actions. Im sure thats not what you intended.

It was not my intention of defending him or anyone else. I am just against snap judgments when all the facts are not known.

So far, I have only heard one side of this story. From a child. With case histories of lying or embellishing to make his or her story more believable.

I don't know what these people did or did not do, no one does, especially on this blog.

I just believe someone has to be convicted of something before they receive punishment. Whether real or in the court of public opinion.

I am not condoning anything, nor am I condemning anything or anyone without knowing more facts of the case.

I realize my way of thinking is not popular or accepted in our modern culture any longer. But the truth should always be accepted before someone is condemned by a rumor or assumption.

I'm just weird like that.
