A first-of-its-kind state law that would restrict parents from trying to "cure" their minor children's same-sex attractions seems headed to the governor's desk.
If both state houses can agree on the final language, the legislation, which would ban all sexual orientation change effort (SOCE) treatment for minors, will be sent to Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown for his signature sometime in September. But, so far, there has been no indication from his office on whether he will sign the bill into law.
Whatever the governor does, he's sure to face criticism. Backers see it as a civil rights issue, while critics say lawmakers are infringing on not only parents' rights but also on the mission of mental health professionals.

Hell yes they are. Get out of our homes government.
So, PARENTS are not allowed to parent their kids.
Wow, really and you wonder why we are in trouble...
Please, oh, government, tell me how I should parent my children! And please tell the Mental health workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists that what they have learned over the years in practicing their craft that they are now wrong and need to be led by bureaucrats to cure their patients!
A parent can not parent their children to not be gay!
It's forced homosexuality.
Homosexuality is an act not a lifestyle.
Kook liberals continue to surprise me.
Homosexuality is not natural and should be treated as a mental health issue. Homo's association with child molesters and groups like NAMBLA are obvious but it's not politically correct to point that out. In society they now operate as recruiters of young children under the disguise of acceptance and tolerance. That should be criminal.
Protect your children from the perversion of unnatural sexual acts that some deviants want to portray as " normal" and "ok".
The assault on heterosexuality is everywhere, in schools,(Jimbo's, Barbara's) on TV,(Glee, The New Normal)
Theatre's, even your local mall.
Beware. Raise your children right.
