Big Oil In The News Again

Big oil hasn't learned its lesson from 2010's BP oil spill in the Gulf. Either that or it just doesn't care. Reuters is reporting that oil rigs drilling "ultra-deep" wells have hit historic highs – with more than 80 rigs now drilling at depths of 7,500 feet or more. The likes of BP, Chevron, and Shell are all getting into the deep water drilling game – despite the clear risks of it. In fact, BP is looking to drill even deeper – already developing new technology to drill in even deeper, higher pressure wells. One reason, why big oil is taking so many risks – is because they know they won't be held accountable when they screw up. Not one BP executive has been charged with any crimes stemming from the 2010 oil spill that killed 11 men, ruined coastlines along the Gulf Coast, and has done untold damage to marine life and the food chain in the area. Time to hold Big Oil accountable – after all – what's underneath our land should belong to all of us – not a handful of rich CEOs.

70% of the world is covered with water. Everyone is NIMBY about oil drilling, but still want to haul their obnoxious kids to soccer practice in their SUVs. Deepwater drilling is the future whether or not anyone likes it. BP has a history of catastrophes. It's their M.O. But to willy nilly throw away the obvious future of deep water drilling is moronic. I'm invested in a deepwater driller(SDRL). I'll enjoy my damn near 10% dividend and vast expansion with the newest fleet in the industry.

No one from BP was charged, because Barack Obama accepted more campaign donations from BP than any politician over the last 25 years. He's been bought folks, a throwback to Chi-town politics.

2:07 has it right this is a load, try getting a gallon of fuel to the consumer every day 24/7 365 knowing that the bums in the government make more on a gallon then the company that brings it to us. What would the idiots do if there was no fuel. I remember the 70s

That's right, let's stop drilling and become 100% dependant on foreign oil. We can decimate the oil jobs in this country like the Obama crew is doing to the coal industry. Why do people need to work when we can tax the crap out of rich people and redistribute the money to the newly poor. Please vote for Romney, it's not too late to save the country.
