Top 10 Percent Of Earners Paid 71 Percent Of Federal Income Taxes

Top earners are the target for new tax increases, but the federal income tax system is already highly progressive. The top 10 percent of income earners paid 71 percent of all federal income taxes in 2009 though they earned 43 percent of all income. The bottom 50 percent paid 2 percent of income taxes but earned 13 percent of total income. About half of tax filers paid no federal income tax at all.

The American People do not believe in the income tax. We do not trust the government and therefore do not willingly support it. They take our money by fear. We fear the government and so we pay what we do because we fear the consequences of "the man". We live in fear and our fear grows with each passing act of the federal government.

If you're not afraid then you aren't paying attention.

lol. something tells me non of the commenters are in that top 10 percent, they only like to act is if they are so. Or if they do not benefit from the same tax structure.
