A senior at a Tennessee high school got turned away from her prom when she showed up in a custom-made Confederate flag dress.
Texanna Edwards, 18, of Trenton, Tenn., said she wasn't allowed
inside Gibson County High School's prom on Saturday because officials
deemed the knee-length red dress trimmed with the stars and bars was
"offensive and inappropriate," she told the Tennessean.
The controversial flag is seen as a symbol of slavery-era racism by
many, though others believe it stands for the heritage of the South.

She should have taken it off and gone in the building in under clothes.
thats hot. my kinda gal
I like the dress but she was wearing flip flops to the prom! That kills it right there.
had it been an african flag, or obama is great dress she wouldve been welcomed with open arms.
If she wore one with the stars and stripes I guess that would be offensive to some one. It is history...get over it!
Should have shown up driving the General Lee Ha
Haha, it should be allowed in Tennessee.
At least she was covered!!! I saw some of the girls dressed up for prom locally and was horrified! Leave something to the imagination, girls! LOL LOL
It is not the confederate flag. It is the confederate battle flag. Rednecks suck at history.
I also wonder what her date wore.
I'm not crazy about the Confederate flag. I Don't like what it stands for. But there is that little thing called the first amendment.
