A new report finds that the United States' education system is putting the country's national security at risk.
The independent study, sponsored by The Council on Foreign Relations, finds K-12 school systems across the country are failing to adequately prepare kids to grow up and protect the U.S.
"For starters, we don't have nearly enough people who are capable in the STEM fields: science, technology, engineering and math," said former Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, a member of the council's task force that wrote the report, titled "U.S. Education Reform and National Security."

and how long have we been warning as many people as we could about this??? duh
No wonder we are falling behind, they want to change everything that we were taught. They want to teach homosexuality and bull crap stuff. This country is really falling apart quickly,
Lol I don't think they are teaching "homosexuality" in schools.
Uneducated or poorly educated people are easily led and lied to since they lack critical thinking skills and knowledge of history, economic theory, social and political knowledge. An entire generation has been dumbed down so far, and they are working on the second one. Instead of learning we now concentrate on "diversity". And 8:19, we DO teach "homosexuality". Remember the controversy over the book "Sally has Two Mommies"? I'm not sure of the exact title, but the book WAS allowed to be used in school cirriculum, if memory serves me correctly. Perhaps "teaching" is a misnomer. Indoctrination is a more appropriate term. What's next? "Who's Your Daddy? I Don't Know, But It's Okay"?
The educational system is threatening the security of our nation?
I believe so - but it is not because of the stated reasons in the article. I believe the reason it is threatening the security of our nation is because the system injects a Nationalist Socialist agenda that is consuming virtually all of our nations resources. Case-in-point, Maryland's Maintenance of Effort formula.
