Trooper’s Arrest Suspects For C.D.S /Firearms Violations

BRIEF RESUME:

On the previously listed date at approximately 2152 hours Troopers of the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack were dispatched to the area of RT 12 Snow Hill Rd and RT 13 Bypass in reference to a reported single vehicle collision. While Troopers were en route to the scene, the MSP Salisbury Barrack received reports that the driver of the vehicle was attempting to flee the scene on foot and a physical description was broadcasted for the driver. Responding Troopers located the suspected driver up the road from the crash and believed him to be under the influence of alcohol. While being detained a clear plastic baggie containing suspected powder Cocaine was found to be lying at the feet of the suspect prior to being searched. The baggie was observed to be dry as the ground was wet from rain.

The driver was identified as Maurice Lawrence Ruarke and was found to be Under the Influence of Alcohol. Ruarke was placed under arrest and refused all tests. Ruarke was charged for the possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Cocaine, and possession of CDS Parpahernalia as well as several traffic charges and transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center where he was later seen by the Wicomico County District Court Commissioner.
