Salisbury Police Department Press Release 3-2-12

Winfield Carlton Fisher 3rd, 30yo of Salisbury, MD was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marihuana, Possession of Marihuana, and 2 counts of Possession of Paraphernalia.

On March 1, 2012 at approximately 1:50am, officers were on patrol in the area of Second St and W Main St. The officers observed a vehicle with a suspended registration. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle on Nanticoke Rd at Kenney Dr.

The officers made contact with the operator and sole occupant, identified as Fisher.

Upon their contact, Fisher was nervous and breathing heavily. As the officers spoke with Fisher, one of the officer’s observed in plain view a suspected controlled dangerous substance in the center console of the vehicle. Fisher was asked to exit the vehicle and in doing so the officers observed a suspected marihuana cigarette on the driver’s seat. Fisher was placed under arrest. Search of Fisher’s vehicle, incident to arrest, the officers found a quantity of suspected marihuana, digital
scales and other related paraphernalia indicative to the distribution of the narcotic. Fisher was released to the custody of central booking.

Why?? Remember way back when in the old days they used to show the massive burning of pot when busted? Know why you dont see that anymore? Because the Government seizure of pot is being sold by the government either for medical use or to fund other drug busts.
Mark my words... pot busts is funding the government more than you know. They take the pot confiscated and instead of destroying it they are selling it!!
Of course this is pure conjecture on my part but that is my best answer to your question of why they bother with pot busts anymore.

By the way have they solved those murders yet? Guess the pot smokers are first priority.
