Gingrich is toxic.

Gingrich and Romney should step down so someone who cares about the country can win.
They both are hurting the GOP.
I wouldn't vote for either now.

"A balding America resents big haired politicians".Think about it.Sex scandals, abuse of power, misuse of funding, etc, etc have plagued them repeatedly. For some reason they never work out.Rod Blagojevich was one of the most recent cases. He stigmatized big haired politicians forever and the public did not consciously realize it.Now America is faced with a choice;don't elect Newt and avoid all of the crap, or elect him and deal with the inevitable later.

Gingrich would lose badly to Obama if he were to run against him. Romney would have a much better chance.

I use to like Gingrich, but he has too much baggage now!

He is a huge detriment to the party. I am an Independent and never tow a party line. I vote for the best man based on his stand on the issues. There is no way in hell that Gingrich would get my vote. I'll make my decision when the gloves come off for the general election. Hoping that Paul or Romney is the Republican nominee. Won't hold my breath for Paul..... unfortunately.

1:38, you're right. I am looking for someone electable, and I don't think Gingrich is that. Romney stands the best chance of beating Obama. I am a Republican, and the main mission of the Republicans is to remove Obama from office. I don't think that Gingrich is the man who can do that; I do believe Romney can.

No one hurts the GOP like the GOP.

If we elect Romney then why have a republican party. He is just a democrat wearing a red shirt like McCain was ans Bob Dole and so on. Are you seeing a pattern here. The Rhinos never win elections.

Truth is, the "establishment" GOP loathe Newt. Remember, a lot of inside-the-beltway types wanted John Boehner as the House Speaker, but Newt won out in the 90s. Examine the records of both as Speaker. It's easy to see that the establishment couldn't tell the head of an ass from it's tail. Newt did an incredible job as Speaker, and doesn't get an ounce of recognition for it.
