Gannett Profits Fall 32% As Ad Revenue Dips

Gannett (NYSE: GCI) reported net income of $124.7 million, 49 cents per diluted share, in its 2011 fiscal year fourth quarter ended Dec. 25, 2011. That compares with $174.1 million, 72 cents per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter.

Revenue in the quarter fell 5 percent to $1.39 billion from $1.46 billion a year ago.

Y'all can stop paying your subscription. They will still deliver! We stopped our monthly auto pay and canceled our subscription two months ago, and we haven't missed a single paper at our door! They even called us to ask if we wanted to start up our subscription again at a discounted rate!
