What types of safety improvements? Traffic lights? How about teaching people to drive and stop building developments on 349!

Here's an idea, build a bridge to replace the ferry. Yes, it'd be pricey. But it's a route that a large percentage of those living on the west side of town use on a daily basis. It'd ease congestion on Pemberton/Nanticoke, cut down commuting time, while allowing for continued growth of the west side. A permanent solution will eventually need to replace the temporary ferry.

849-No need for traffic lights on Nanticoke. Think congestion is bad now, wait until some lights get put up for no good reason. A better solution would be to add another lane in each direction, or build a bridge crossing at Upper Ferry.

well after the recent inprovements which are ridiculous. going from two lanes to one at the light then back to two then to three then to two then to one. All they did was create a monstracity which will cause untold number of accidents. Why not move the traffic light at 349 and fitzwater out of the island and make it two lanes down past food lion? or would that make to much sense. Would someone please tell me where salisbury's road engineers got their training? must have been in some turd world university!

You all need to learn the difference between State roads, County roads, and City roads. Each has it's own funding streams. Forget the idea of a bridge across the river. Never going to happen. It would cost 50 million dollars. You all complain about taxes and not wanting anymore. How are you going to build a bridge from a county budget that is doing nothing but going down? I doubt you could even get the environmental permits. If you owned one of the properties beside the ferry, would you give up the land? As far as Nanticoke rd, wait till it is finished to complain. It will be four lanes with turn lanes. Why complain anyway? The ones that bought homes in the subdivisions along the nanticoke corridor knew what the access was. You are the ones creating the traffic, and you are the ones complaining about it. If you don't like the traffic, don't buy along that corridor.
