Ringing Cellphone Reportedly Disrupts New York Philharmonic Performance

A ringing cellphone reportedly disrupted a performance by the New York Philharmonic on Tuesday, prompting a conductor to stop abruptly stop the music.

Maestro Alan Gilbert stopped the iconic orchestra during the final movement of Gustav Mahler's Ninth Symphony at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.

Gilbert turned his head to signal his displeasure when an iPhone's distinctive "Marimba" ringtone initially went off, but the ringing continued for minutes.

How so very rude and ignorant of the idiot who did not silence his phone before going in - or better yet, leave the thing at home for one evening, geez.

It's unfortunate that some people in society can't seem to step away from their phones, for any reason!
You don't need to be that accessible! None of us do!
Put the phone away!
NO conversation is THAT important!
Just another way this country has become rude and insociable!
