To hear the Religious Right tell it, men like George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were 18th-century versions of Jerry Falwell in powdered wigs and stockings. Nothing could be further from the truth.

@1:04 Really? Why? The fact remains is that many of the founding fathers were Deists. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence for this in their writings and letters. I know that this fact hurts the narrative of the evangelicals, but it's hard to argue with verifiable facts.
