GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum explained his opposition to abortion even in cases of rape during an interview Friday, saying that women who face such circumstances should "make the best out of a bad situation."
Asked by CNN's Piers Morgan what he would do if his own daughter approached him, begging for an abortion after having been raped, Santorum explained that he would counsel her to "accept this horribly created" baby, because it was still a gift from God, even if given in a "broken" way.
"Well, you can make the argument that if she doesn't have this baby, if she kills her child, that that, too, could ruin her life. And this is not an easy choice, I understand that. As horrible as the way that that son or daughter and son was created, it still is her child. And whether she has that child or she doesn't, it will always be her child, and she will always know that," Santorum said.

What a nutter. Good thing he has zero chance of being elected.
I am not for anyone running out and getting abortions just for the heck of it but this is a special situation..if it happened to my daughter no way would I force her to carry a child that will remind her of her rapist. You run the risk of her resenting the baby which is very unfair to the child.
I agree with poster anon 4:01 PM,
I don't agree with abortions, however; In this situation it is solely up to the person, or persons whom are affected (I.E The women being raped)...
It has been proven that people whom have preditorial tendencies of violent crimes, can and often do pass those genes off to their children...
I for one, would not condone anyone whom has been raped, and CHOOSE to rid herself of the painful memory of that sick person and to stop an offspring from that sick person in which more than likely they will end up committing the same crimes... Not to mention, as poster said above, it would be a memory that stays with you until the end if they do have the child!!!
And for someone to TELL ME what do to or not to do with MY OWN LIFE is a sick person too... Which is why Rick won't win...
A baby should not be executed for a crime its father committed. Family and spiritual support and allowing a loving, willing family to adopt is a better choice.
4:42,
Its not a baby when it cannot sustain its own life.
How hard is that to understand?
Also, how hard is it to understand that overpopulation is an EXTREME PROBLEM IN THE WORLD.
