A video of extreme prepping. Agreed, some of this is extreme but the video has some interesting ideas. It also shows that there are no limits to American ingenuity. It should also be noted that beginning February 5th, National Geographic will air the first in a series called Prepping for Disaster. You have to agree that prepping must be catching on for a television network to implement a TV series about it.

I don't know, but if he's given up golf and bowling in order to prepare for living in a world that allows neither, then I think he's sworn himself to not enjoy any of his remaining life. Just what good is a life if you deny yourself the enjoyment of it? Isn't that where the line is?
Wow it is a long video. I watched some of it. My boss is coming in soon so I will have to watch the rest later. I don't think it as extreme as you make it seem. I think it's right on. Won't you defend your family and their food? I will. I have bee prepping for about a year. I have been watching whats going on in the world and I think it is the responsibility of everybody to prepare for themselves and their families. I also think that the prepper lifestyle isn't any different from the lives lived by americans 150 years ago. And many Amish people live that way right now except for the protecting yourself part.
The problem many will have with prepping is there is no instant gratification, that so many have allowed themselves to become accustomed to. On top of losing the instant gratification they also have to do for themselves. People have become lazy, dependent on others to do the menial tasks. People don't even wash their own cars or windows anymore, forget about cutting their own grass. These same people will be the first in line for the government to save them. Prepping is not new, for many it is a way of life and has always been their way of life. I learned this recently from a lady probably the same lady referred to in a previous article. The most important thing I learned was everything can be used for something other than what it was intended. Thank you is hardly enough.
I love it. I definitely love it. I wonder how many people around here will be so dedicated? Someone keeps asking for a meet and greet. I want to do that too. Too many questions to ask on line.
I saw this a few weeks ago these folks are good. And I disagree with9:22 when you say there is no instant gratification If you can get water out of the ground without power it's an awsome feeling. And with Joe & Prepper 2k opening the eyes of many that to my friend is awsome Keep Prepping
I'm amazed.
I will say that with the first couple, they also worry about a nuclear meltdown. IF that should happen, everything they've "prepped" outside will be contaminated so I would have to discount all of that prep when it comes to that sort of disaster.
I give them a lot of credit though. I only made it through the first two families this go around but I'll finish watching later.

10:38 it's not "instant" gratification when you have to dig the hole to get the water out of the ground. People these days want everything right now, not right after they finish the job. So we'll agree to disagree on the meaning of instant gratification. I agree with the points made in the 9:22 post.
When I look at my pantry grow and grow I get a deep feeling of satisfaction. I think there are a lot of people who won't prepare for the reasons you say 12:49. But they better not come looking for food at my house when things go bad. I started to can vegetables I bought at the farmers market this fall. I was satisfied with that too. Now I eat it in the winter and don't have to buy any. That is an accomplishment for me. I am proud of that. I wish more people would do it. We have to be more self sufficient.

3:44 it's true that some Americans are being dumbed down - but there is still time for you to turn yourself around. You need to stop feeding at the government trough. Stop believing everything you see on the news just because the information was supplied by the government. Open your eyes and pay attention to what is going on around you and compare it to what the constitution says. Once you realize that you have been dumbed down you can take steps to wake up. If you choose to keep drinking the government kool-aid, we can't help you. Oh...and when the SHTF and you find yourself without food or water - DONT come crying to those you look down upon. Traitor!
