New Castle Businessman Challenges Carper

LewesKevin Wade wants to change the way Delaware is represented in Washington, D.C.  More than 60 Delaware residents gathered Jan. 12 to rally support for Wade, a Republican, in his run against Delaware’s U.S. Sen. Tom Carper, a Democrat who has never lost an election.
Wade said he is not concerned with Carper’s political career.  “Tom Carper may be winning, but everyone in this room is losing,” Wade said as he glanced around the Sussex East clubhouse in Lewes.
Wade said career politicians such as Carper have stopped working for their constituents. “The people I work with have to do their job or they have to go,” Wade said.  Wade founded Philadelphia Control Systems Inc., an engineering corporation based in Christiana, about 30 years ago, at age 29.
“Kevin doesn’t have to do this.  He’s been very successful,” said Sussex County Republican Dan Anderson.  “He’s doing this because he’s a patriot.”
