Iraq Vet Sought In Killing Of Rainier Ranger Is Found Dead

An armed Iraq War veteran suspected of killing a Mount Rainier National Park ranger was found dead Monday, apparently killed by the cold overnight.

A plane searching the remote wilderness for Benjamin Colton Barnes, 24, discovered his body lying partially submerged in an icy, snowy mountain creek with snow banks standing several feet high on either side.

And our government says these troops dont suffer from post tramatic stress disorder...BULL the government is saying they were that way when they enlisted..The Vietnam veterans association will tell you different. It was 30 years or more before the govt. admitted our boys suffered from pts..and agent orange. It is a shame that a person, no two persons, had to die because of this. (PTS)

The government fully acknowledges PTSD now. Don't try to blame them for this guy's actions. He and/or his family should have asked for help before he decided to murder a woman in cold blood.

I agree with both previous comments. We only hear the worst case scenarios. There are literally millions of PTSD issues that we don't hear about because no one actually died as a result.I don't know why people are so shocked by this story.Expect more of the same.

Unfortunately I was right about some of these guys when they come home. And yes 1213, I do expect more of these types of things to happen.

Whether he was a soldier or not is irrelevant. Do you know how many people have come home to live normal lives? The ability to kill comes from within. While wars can be blamed for lots of things, it's time for people to take personal responsiblity.

What is normal? Being a soldier has everything to do with it. They are trained and conditioned to attack, not just defend. The crap they see would mess up anyone's head.

Some can control it, others not. The services should take some responsibility and de-fuse these people before issuing DD-214's, and worse yet, medical discharges.

Would you liked to be viewed as a threat and have one of these guys remove the threat?

Freedom isn't free and the Marines will pay most of your share but how do you turn it off?
