The hot topic for the night is clearly the announcement we made referencing two key employees at the Wicomico Board Of Education. However, we can now top that.
Tomorrow morning all principals will be made aware that Dr. Terry Greenwood and Bill Middleton will be the replacements for the two employees placed on paid administrative leave.
Some are truly bothered that Fredricksen didn't promote from within, but what else is new.
Again, who's DelMarVa's News Leader? More news in REAL time.

So which two were placed on administrative leave?
This is not a permanent hire. Both were brought in to stabilize the dept. I doubt either would come out of retirement for these positions.
They are only interims. The letter went out earlier today. And, NO ONE internally should get the job. That's how all this mess started, picking internals who aren't qualified. Or, bringing back rejects. (i.e. Moses & Messick) More will be upset if these two aren't terminated.
Terry and Bill are excellent replacements on a temp basis. They can do the job in a professional manner (something new for this group), and transition until permanent replacements are brought in. Very good decision by Dr. F. They can also evaluate, investigate, recruit, interview, etc. Excellent decision. I'm not a supporter of Fredricksen but this is really smart.
Great replacements...both are very familiar with the education system!
Wasn't Middleton the Super before Frederickson?
Stef Moses got her job as HR director when Rick was on the BOE. Hope no leaks filtered back to old close friend Ricky.Oh well, just another fallen star from the BOE sky.Not everyone can rule by executive order unless your last name is Obama. No favors for friends or chess players. Hopefully, we still have a democracy in Wicomico county.
11:03, I think that Middleton was superintendent before the forgettable "Dr." Charlene Cooper Boston. Or was it the other way around?
Maybe they will fix the bus schedule my kid has to get up at 5:30 am to catch the bus after the cut backs.
Yeah 5:29, I'd say HR can...ummm..some money so your kid can catch the bus at 7:30. No problem.
Middleton was before Boston. Boston was the one who, in a graduation speech, said "N is for knowledge." She was trying to write one of those poems where each letter of a word stands for something. English teachers everywhere cringed. Middleton was a good superintendent. Maybe he should be on the county council to advocate for the school system, since our county seems to care about funding everything except education.
Dr. Boston did the "N is for Knowledge" speech, not at a graduation, but at the opening-of-the-school-year meeting for all staff and many community leaders and guests held at the Civic Center. Unfortunately she was introducing the State Superintendent Dr. Nancy Grasmick and trying to do a clever poem using Dr. Grasmick's name. The comment was edited out of the PAC 14 broadcast, but the damage was done.
If an employee is directed to do something wrong, he can refuse and hope his boss is not a vindictive dictator or he can do as he's told. Assume he does as directed. Should the underling be fired, the boss or both? If the boss's bosses seem to have no ability to control the boss in question, would telling them of the boss's many wrongdoings make any difference? Time will tell.
They will see that Fredricksen is the one that needs to be replaced. Can't believe a thing that comes out of his mouth.
Jobs are being threatened if employees "blow the whistles". Our county needs a change. There are principals and supervisors who are vindictive, manipulative and self serving. They are the team Dr. F. chooses to play with. Hope Bill can see through it all.
Who do you think chose Bill and Terry to come in to the central office? Do you honestly believe they were chosen because they will correct the situation and tell their new boss he should not be allowed to keep his job? When the fox chooses who guards the henhouse, look for the fox to run free.
Is there any accountability for Dr.Fredericksens actions? Ron Wiley, Michelle Wright and rest of board? Will you continue to support the super, reinstate his contract?
you know, I can't help but think of the old cliche "where there's smoke, there's usually fire"
there must be something to this or two people wouldn't be away from their desks today.
I too think there is something to this. But I dont think the fingers are going to point to the gals in HR. Top dog might have hung himself.
10:52... Permanent replacements may be needed but not for Messick and Moses.
Bigger question to ask is how much are they paying these guys to "fill in" ? The answer- BIG BUCKS !!
For Terry and Bill to get tied up in this mess, it had to be an offer to good to refuse. But the BOE is honest, they will tell us what they are paying.
9:19: I am sure that statement was blatant sarcasm. Honest? Heck no.
9:19
They won't tell you what they're paying. They won't tell you where the money is coming from to pay the two coming back from retirement and the subs. for several other employees who are on "administrative" leave. Hope parents ask at the budget hearing.

Budget hearing? Any resolutions for a better tomorrow for the BOE, parents and students?
Shame on the BOE for making this personnel issue such a public issue. Since when are big meetings held to "tell" when others are placed on leave. Isnt that a violation of privacy? If there are several others on "administrative" leave, why wasnt that made into a big spectacle? Something fishy going on with administration. Maybe there is some truth to Dr. F. sleeping with ?
What happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?
Wonder how these two fellows are making out in their new positions......
