Raising Taxes On the Rich: Not Whether, But How

Last week, the Senate rejected proposals by both Democrats and Republicans to pay for an extension of the 2 percent temporary payroll tax cut enacted a year ago. The Democratic plan to finance it with a 3.25 percent surtax on millionaires garnered significantly more votes than the Republican plan to cut the number of federal jobs and freeze the pay of federal workers.

Here is why this plan to tax the rich is bogus.Billionaire Kirk Kerkorian hasnt filed a personal income tax statement since 1960.Why you say, because all his wealth is in his foundation and he just borrows what he needs from it so he dont need income of any kind. The politicians know this and will never change that.

How many times must people be reminded that citizens, rich and poor, pay taxes on TAXABLE income. Raising taxes on anyone is a toothless statement if the people they target have NO taxable income. GE had $15 BILLION income but non of it was taxable. Next year, it could be $20 BILLION of which none of it is taxable. Sooooo.... why raise the taxes?

More people should pay attention to what Ron Paul has been telling the public.

They key to the government's success lies in the presentation of false choices.

The question is this: Tax the poor OR tax the rich?

The proper answer: NONE of us are going to continue to support this illegal and immoral government! None of us recognize you as an authority in our lives. We REFUSE to pay and commence civil disobedience against an illegal government.

More taxes is like giving a drug addict more drugs.

So that means only the working people get their taxes raised no matter what the politicians say!

What, if any, is the difference between democrats in power and republicans in power?

I can't see any difference. The same crap goes on no matter which party is in power.
