This time it happened about two weeks ago. The Warden had alegedly been told if there was another prisoner released he would be let go. Some are saying this is why they are trying to keep it hush/hush.
On the last go around, a Sgt. was demoted, officers were let go and the prisoner was involved in a shooting soon after in New Jersey.
This time a female Leutenant was given a verbal warning.
Salisbury News will continue to dig deeper into this story and hopefully come up with a follow up story in the near future.

Does this surprise anybody? I know for a fact that they just released personal records of an inmate to an attorney for a civil issue. Not criminal....illegal as hell. The attorney sent a letter to the WCDC and they sent him the entire personel file. What a joke that place is!

The female lieutenant in this case is protected since she is married to the really big major that can barely move around. Nothin will happen to any of them. The institution has zero accountability for anything that goes on there. Wasn't there a female that comited suicide there earlier this year? How did the jail explain that?

The Security Chief at that location was heavily involved in drugs at one time.
I testified to undercover agents back in the late 80's and he was fired from ECI. When he was assigned to MCIJ in Jessup Maryland he sexually harrased female employees and was sent to ECI to work there. Our tax dollars support this nonsense!!1
Now he is the Security Chief at this location in Wicomico County.

I know the lt. you speak of. I do not know of this incident thiugh. In the past the records dept. made mistkes which allowed inmates to be released prematurely. One incident that I do have personal knowledge of involved an inmate being released with outstanding charges. This inmate was being housed in another county. When a Sgt. brought this matter to the attention of this same lt. mentioned in the above posting, the Sgt. was repermanded. He was also told by a capt. and the chief of security to minded his own business. The warden at the time was only told when the inmate was not brought to court. This was the previous warden not the current one. The warden had to issue a warrant for the capture of the inmate. All of which could have been avoided if the powers had only listened to a lowly sgt. I am sure that mistkes were made, but the major one in this incident was on the records dept.
The Warden is a big screw up. He was Political in his time in MD DOC. All WCDC has is a bunch of screwups running it. They never hire a person of knowledge. Just Political screwups. I worked with both at ECI. I know they are as DUMB as DUMB can get.
There has been nothing but cover up's at WCDC for decades. The Wicomico Council and Rick Pollitt have turned a blind eye to several issues and did not take appropriate action. Won't surprise anyone if this is just one more cover up in a long line of screw up's.
Talking about mistakes people are human and mistakes happen period.... as far as The records Dept goes question i have is DOES THE RECORDS DEPT RELEASE THE INMATES I THINK NOT.......

After the Sgt was demoted there has been 4 other bad releases. 3 of them were Lts and 1 was the records supervisor. I know 1 Lt and records persons mistake was covered up.The warden lied to news media and others and said he had put measures in place to prevent bad releases. The measures that were put in place were colored photos of inmates,a check sheet and put a captain on the evening shift to be the scape goat. The only measure that are still in place are black and white photos, a check sheet and a scape goat. They failed to realize that releases are on every shift.Now that the shift supervisor have become payroll clerks there is more of a chance for bad releases.The Director or head security nut will never be held accountable. For one the Director was hand picked by the county Ex . Two the Director will never hold the head security nut accountable because his aware of the director's dirt. The both of them are equally bad boys from DOC. The head security nut was fired and the director was made to leave or be fired. I can't believe the county ignored the investigations into their applicatios and backgrounds. I bet they were not conducted.This is what the county deserves, DOC rejects.
Jamison gets Admin Lt. And it looks like one of the DOC boys will get SGT. Its going as planed. All Jamison do is sit and wait for Elliott #2 to do his typing and spell checking.The detention Center need all the supervisors it can get. Instead they come up with specialty postions for those they like. Thats why there are bad releases and other problems there. The Director sits on his butt all day and bark . Kimball walks all day peekig at the ladies and making sure the kitchen supervisor is being faithful. Wicomico County haS MADE 2 MISTAKES BACK TO BACK.
Mistakes are made but this big of a mistake and this many times is not acceptable. Learn from your mistakes and fix it. WCDC release procedure is a joke. The inmate is asked some questions and a black and white photo is on file which is not of good quality. No ID bracelets are on the inmates, they just have a cheap hand written ID card with a black and white photo. This place is very reactive and not pro-active meaning they will wait for something to go wrong when it is too late to fix it instead of trying to prevent things from happening. This concept goes for the whole operation. WCDC needs a union for things to get better but that will never happen because the command staff will threaten to fire anyone involved in trying to bring a union to WCDC. Its a money making business and thats all they care about. Just the good ole boys...
The real problem at wcdc is NOT Big K or Little k. WCDC is full bags of trash that should have been disposed of years ago. But the command staff have been covering up the trash with straw allowing the items inside to wiggle their way out and create havoc at wcdc. Now that Big K and Little k are throwing some of the trash out one by one and a few items have been broken they want to air wcdc laundry once again. Let's be real. The real problem at wcdc is NOT K and k. It's about the back stabbing, under cutting, undermining, cover-ups and down right unethical behaviors of the command staff and their minions who are willing to lie, cheat and create errors for mistakes to be made. In all the years wcdc has been in wicomico county, 2 wardens have had to leave quickly. Someone needs to investigate that old jail croonies. They are the reason why wcdc is so corrupted. Watch your back Big K and Little k. Your command staff is cutting your throat and their minions are doing their dirty work. These bad releases in our opinions is a matter of set ups. The old jail members will look out for each other. They will ride and die to the end. Mark our words. They are so corrupted.

Everyone there is sick and tired of crap.I can even see it in the command staff's faces.For someone to say it is the command staffs fault is incorrect. No one is exempt from the abuse. Until the staff stand up for themselves the abuse will continue.From what I have observed the command staff is too loyal to the 2 k s. Some may see it as back stabbing but I see it as back rubbing.Maybe they should start going for the back.

Your command staff was sooo loyal to welch. Welch is gone. Your command staff was sooo loyal to DDD. Now, he is gone. Your command staff is sooo loyal to K and k until they are gone. If your command staff were loyal leaders, wcdc would NOT be so corruptible. Outside intervention is the only thing that will save this jail. Nothing has ever work internally. The in house bad seeds are grown now and corruptible. Check the staffs civil, criminal, traffic, personal and rehabilitation records. There is nothing professional about these people. They have plenty of skeletons in their closet. And, they keep promoting their puppets. This crap goes all the way back to the old jail. They won't tell the truth about that. What makes you think they are telling the truth now. The system is corrupted. Maybe one day the jail will be a pleasant place to work. Right now it is just a place to hurry up and work for a paycheck. Everyone needs a job.

WCDC is full of favoritism. This is proved by the hire of relatives and some are in a supervisor position with control over their relative. There is Major Elliott and Officer Elliott, Major Moore and Lt. Moore, Sgt. Stevenson and Two Officer Stevensons, Two Officer Kellams, Two Officer Cottmans, Officer Bowling and Officer Tull, Two Officer Andertons, Officer Purnell and Officer Briddell, Lt. Dickerson, Sgt. Dickerson and Officer Dickerson, Two Officer Garrisons, Two Officer Passwaters, Two Officer Sullivans. This is a violation of the Wicomico County Personnel Manual Chapter 7. The cover ups and unfair promotions, the unfair treatment of employees who are on the outside and left to fend for themselves. No one knows what to do about all the issues at wcdc because if you speak up about anything, your life will be made miserable by the command staff. The command staff controls your vacation time, time clock, and what post you work. WCDC is a job made miserable by favoritism, power trips, and cover ups to name a few. Working here is like Survivor, choose your alliances carefully or you will be voted off the island.
The three F,s will destroy any work place. Where there is freinds,family,and favortism there are problems.There are unwritten benefits when the three F,s exist in the work place. Nepotism does not have to be a supervisor supervising a family member or showing favor toward the family member. It could be that you have enough rank or power to pave the way to a great career for your friend,family or favorit .It makes it hard for other supervisors to do their jobs without the fear of retaliation. The fact is just that the mere though of it happing is a violation. Per the WCPM.
Another close call for wcdc . A female was almost released in erro this week.Georgy porgy just dont understand that his constant slave driving causes staff to overlook the basic correctional practices. For someone that has never worked as a correctional officer he sure claims to know it all.
