Sarah Palin Says Criticism Of Hank Williams Jr. Is "Disgusting"

Country music star Hank Williams Jr is the victim of double standard after being dumped by ESPN for comparing President Obama to Hitler, Fox News analyst Sarah Palin said Thursday.

"Hank Williams and what he is going through now, I think it's a very clear illustration of a greater societal problem and that is the hypocrisy on the left -- the liberals who can throw these stones at a conservative and they knowing that they're not going to be held accountable," Palin told Fox colleague Sean Hannity on his radio show Thursday.

Williams, the son of country music legend Hank Williams who died in 1953, was the voice behind ESPN's Monday Night Football opening song which included the words "are you ready for some football?" for decades.

Did all you (left and right) miss the whole "he's the enemy" crap Hank was spoutin. Like the president or not, it's pretty vile and hypocritical to claim patriotism, then talk about the president as an enemy because your guy did not win.

11:43, maybe you should listen to the whole segment, not just a sound bite.

The comparison was dead on! Obama is an enemy of capitalism therefore an enemy of America!

Maybe I have missed the greater point here, but both Mr. Williams and ESPN are free to make statements and make choices. Mr. Williams made a statement of his views. By our constitution he was absolutely within his right to do so. ESPN, as a business entity, made a choice not to conduct further business with Mr. Williams, which is also their right---- done deal, this is America...That is why it is great...

You're correct - and likewise, I have the right to avoid ESPN and their sponsors.

But that's not really the point and you know it. The Bush/Hitler comparisons were a daily staple for 8 years. Artwork was even displayed depicting Bush with a gun to his head and there was hardly a murmur from the ever-offended. William's comments were tame in comparison. Not a big fan of GWB, but the hypocrisy is overwhelming.

I just hope he never apologizes. Why is it that every time someone of notoriety makes a comment, they subsequently tell everyone how sorry they are for saying it?I'm watching this post to see for myself if anyone was actually offended by Hank's comment. My guess is that even Obama was not really offended,He may have even laughed about it.

11:43, he was making the analogy between Obama and Boehner playing golf together, would be like Hitler and Netanyahu playing together, because they are polar opposites...
you moron.

Bush/Hitler analogies were absolutely stupid. And you guys were up in arms about them saying how "unAmerican" it was to say such a thing. Now either you are hypocrites now for your constant baseless tirades about "obama the enemy" or you are just children playing the "well he did it" card who aren't even equipped to be in a serious debate on policy issues.

I remember years ago when they decided not to have Hank Jr do the song at the beginning of MNF. The fans had a fit and they brought him back the following year. I wonder if ESPN will regret their decision this time.

Hank is a joke and beard dye doesn't help
he would be a no talent nobody without his fathers legacy
Im surprised he even knows what an analogy is
