As the surveillance state continues to expand, the push to track the movement of individuals across state borders has also expanded. Automatic license plate recognition technology is at the forefront of this move, not only capturing thousands of license plates per minute and storing the information in a database, but also recording the GPS location of where it was "pinged." According to the ACLU of Washington, law enforcement agencies don't delete any of this information.
This creates a vast database of personal data of where a person traveled, when and for how long. Data firms and multinational intelligence companies are also jumping on the bandwagon, furthering the reach of the surveillance matrix.

how does this tell how long you were in a certain area? if you pass a police car with this technology, it only stores when and where you passed it. once your out of range(not very far) it no longer reads your tag. this technology is used mostly to get suspended tags, uninsured vehicles, and other traffic violating vehicles off the road. this is a good thing. if you ever get struck by an uninsured motorist, you will know what i mean.

I guess you get your picture taken a dozen times a week (it's stored in police computers indefinitely, though the police have not charged or suspected you of ANY crime), your cell phone records are kept for years (why?), all your computer use (every site you visit) is tracked and recorded, even your television habits are recorded and stored by the cable companies. Your phone conversations are ALL monitored for keywords and all your banking records are routinely checked. You can be searched without warrant, HELD indefinitely (!!)in SECRET (the police don't even have to ADMIT they have picked you up!!), hold a trial (in secret), convict you (an AMERICAN CITIZEN!!) in secret, and then IMPRISON you (in a secret location!. And there are actually people like YOU who say it's okay?! Hitler LOVED minions like you. Stalin did, too. And like Hitler, he imprisoned and killed THEM, too. thsi used to be a freee country, founded on the principles espoused in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Until boot-licking sheep like YOU surrendered, and continue to surrender, everything that hundreds of thousands of REAL patriotic Americans sacrificed life and limb for. Outstanding technology, I use it daily and rarely go a shift without an arrest because of it. Tag hits remain in the database for 90 days, not forever.
