VIDEO: Reagan Called For An End To ‘Crazy’ Tax Loopholes That Let Millionaires Pay Less Than Bus Drivers

When President Obama released his plan for “the Buffett rule,” which involves closing tax loopholes and ensuring that millionaires pay their fair share in taxes, he explained that “middle-class families shouldn’t be paying higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires.” “Warren Buffett’s secretary shouldn’t pay a higher tax rate than Warren Buffett,” he said.

Ever since, many Republicans have been attacking Obama for inciting “class warfare.” “It looks like the President wants tomove down the class warfare path,” said House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI). “I don’t think I would describe class warfare as leadership,” agreed Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH).

I think a flat tax across the boards without loopholes would be fine. It should be a reasonable rate. Get rid of the IRS for tax purposes. Let EVERYONE pay a flat tax, rich to poor. A "fair" share for all Americans. And, only Americans get the services that Americans pay for. Illegals go home!! Get nothing unless they "pay for it". NOTHING! Charge foreign governments for the Military we provide for them or bring them home. They can pay with oil if they don't have dollars. Simple solutions to complicated (only because we've made it so) problems.

I agree with everything you wrote, however I don't think the flat tax has a chance because it will take power away from the congress. How will these congressmen collect huge campaign funds from lobbyists if there aren't special tax loopholes for special groups in the tax code?

Congress has no power.

Worry about Congress' bosses - the Federal Reserve Bank and the Bank of England.
