New Book Shows Parents How To Teach Their Kids

BALTIMORE (WJZ)– It’s a question that’s divided education experts for years. What’s the best way to learn? One author says the best learning happens with parents.

As Gigi Barnett explains, her book shows parents how.

Book in hand. Reading along in a classroom. It’s the traditional way to learn, but education experts say it’s not the only way.

Considering the ever-dropping test scores and the overall stupidity and general lack of basic skills like reading above the 5th grade level, or balancing a checkbook, or writing a complete paragragh, PERHAPS all these college geniuses who know all about the "seven types of intelligence" or the "9 methods of learning" (but have never actually TAUGHT anyone anything, should reconsider "traditional" methods. How many kids today know the "times tables"? Not many, and please don't say its because we have calculators and they don't need them. Without electricty, we are raising a nation of imbeciles.
