Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club, 31663 Winterplace Pkwy, Salisbury, Md, along with The American Kennel Club invites the public to participate in their 2011 celebration of Responsible Dog Ownership Day, on Saturday, September 10. If you would like a table space at $10 per space, please contact Cathy-Jo.
The public is invited to bring their well mannered dogs. Children are to be accompanied by an adult. The Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club Charitable Trust Dog Walk will begin at 9 a.m. Sign up between 8 a.m. & 9 a.m. The tax deductible fee is $20.00 for the walk plus $5.00 for each additional dog. Money collected will be used to purchase bullet & stab proof dog safety vests for area K-9 units.
K-9 festivities inside SMKC’s air conditioned training center and outside on their grassy grounds will include:
- Parade of AKC Breeds/Meet the Breeds 9:30 a.m.
- Wicomico County Sheriff K-9 Unit Demo 11:00 a.m.
- Parade of Rescue/Adopted dogs (any adopted or rescue dog is invited to participate) 1:00 p.m.
- Group Demos in Obedience
- Demos in Agility & Rally
- Freestyle Obedience (dancing with your dog)
- Safety around dogs
- Huge raffle table (benefit SMKC Charitable Trust projects)
- Pets on Wheels (Local Therapy Dogs)
- Canine Ambassador (Area School Visitation Program)
- $2.00 nail trimming by Cathy’s Pet Salon (benefit local K-9 units)
- Food by Chef Stewart of Flannery’s
- Controlled Games for you to play with your dogs
- Trick dog demo
- Wicomico County Humane Society
- Veterinarian to answer health maintenance for your pets
- Professional groomers to answer grooming questions
- Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Testing 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. ($10.00)
- Yard Sale (Multi-Community)
