He got a life sentence

Compare THAT sentence to the one handed down to the Baltimore cop who shot an unarmed man outside a bar 12 times. TWELVE times. Killed him. The Catonsville guy didn't kill anyone, did he?

The cop you speak of got 17 years. Either 10 for manslaughter and 7 for handgun violations (two of which were suspended) or vice versa, I forget.

It would seem that cops who shoot at civilians get less time than civilians who shoot at cops. Fair?

Fair? Good try and I commend you for your attempts at being "reasonable". Fair is NOT what happened here. If I read the article correctly (always in question), the Catonsville guy got 11 --ELEVEN -- life terms and 118 years (65 without possibility of parole) for SHOOTING at cops. The cop KILLED an unarmed man (over a woman) and got what? Fair doesn't enter the equation here. I was mostly surprised that the cop got ANY time at all, in light of the FACT that cops across this nation beat senseless and MURDER unarmed and often innocent citizens on a regular basis. And go scot free. Court records will back that statement up. So will video. Just google police brutality in Prince Georges County (Maryland). In the 60's, 70's, and 80's, they were shooting people like it was target practice at the NAACP convention. One cop shot a guy FROM HIS CAR because he wouldn't stop (walking on the sidewalk) when ordered to do so.
