White House Set To Ax Hundreds Of Regs

(VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass.) — The White House is revealing plans to save businesses $10 billion by scrapping hundreds of government regulations found to be outdated, unfair or unnecessary.

Administration officials say the savings will be realized over a five-year period. The plan was described Tuesday by Cass Sunstein, administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, in a column in the Wall Street Journal in advance of a formal announcement as President Barack Obama vacations at Martha's Vineyard, Mass.

Congress made the regulations, and Obama and Cass Sustien get to just throw them out because they think they're "stupid" Who is judging this fiasco? Which regulations? Granted there are many laws and regs that are stupid and don't work and need to go, but why can't we ALL play the game? It might make it interesting! Propose it to Congress, Obama, and let them decide. It's not your place.

I’ll bet he wants to definitely drop the one requiring you to be a real American, born in the USA to be President!

well conservatives, I guess after busting the "weak on defense, raise your taxes, socialist" by getting Bin Laden, ratcheting up the war in Afhan., lowering taxes, and agreeing to cuts in entitlments, you are even more pissed by his moves to deregulate.

3:58 his intent to cut entitlements just came about last week and his idea to get rid of these regulations are only because the election is coming up. Along with his "balanced approach to spending" and the budget that just happened to appear in thin air after his ratings have plummeted. If you just realized this I feel sorry for you. This is all a bunch of BS to get the voters he has lost over the past few months back. If they are smart they wont back him this go around.

As per pre election promises, we were to witness the most transparent administration of all times. This certainly has not been the case as to this point. But we should welcome a reduction in government regs. When the proposal is made post it on the internet(another pre election promise)so we can share in the fun.

flerndip, last I checked, almost all moves made by politicians of all stripes can be traced directly to them trying to be re-elected. So whats your point? You sound more like the resounding chorus of "I was for [fill in the blank] before I was against it" that I keep hearing from conservatives everytime Obama supports something that they agree with.

5:27 My point is he didnt agree with them before, no all of a sudden does.2 months ago he was against a balanced approach now he is. He has been putting all kinds of new regulations in place for Obama care. Now the people are saying it the regulations that hurt small business now he wants to ax them. Thats my point. Coming to the middle when 2 months ago he was far left.
