Run, Jump & Throw at this Year’s Hershey’s Track & Field Games

(Salisbury, MD) If you are a child between 9 & 14 (age as of December 31, 2011) who loves to run, jump, and throw, these games are for you!  Come out and join in the fun by competing in basic track and field events and have a chance of a lifetime to receive an all expense paid trip to compete in the annual North American Final Meet held in Hershey, PA each year.  Beginners and track enthusiasts all welcome! 

Wicomico County Recreation & Parks Department will be running a Local Hershey Track & Field Meet on Wednesday, June 15 at 6:00pm at Wicomico County Stadium.  Registration will begin at 5:15 pm.  Participants can enter two track and one field or two field and one track event.  Events will include the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 2000 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, 4 x 100 meter relay, standing long jump, and softball throw. 

The Hershey’s Track & Field Games have involved millions of youngsters from all 50 states, the District of Colombia and Canada.  It is sponsored by the National Recreation and park Association, USA Track & Field, Athletics of Canada and by the The Hershey Company.  Hershey’s Track & Field Games are designed to encourage physical fitness among youth and emphasize participation and sportsmanship.

OMG, these people are trying to tell us what we have to do with our kids! They are trying to force us to make our kids be fit and healthy. Those evil socialist!

They are not telling you what to do with your kid. They simply said encourage fitness and sportsmanship. You must be one of the lazy parents who doesn't care if you child does nothing but sit around and eat and play video games so you don't have to watch them.
