AFP-Maryland To Host State Of The State Address

AFP to expose O’Malley’s flawed assessment of the state- ANNAPOLIS- While Governor O’Malley ignores Maryland’s overtaxed citizens and overregulated businesses, the Maryland chapter of grassroots free market group Americans for Prosperity will hold a State of the State Press Conference Friday, April 8th at 12:30pm on Lawyers Mall to examine the State’s real fiscal position as the General Assembly comes to a close.
"For the past several months, this administration and legislature has attempted to execute every tax and fee increase possible," said AFP-Maryland State Director Charles Lollar. "From the gas tax to food tax to alcohol tax to car registration fee increases, the legislature under direct influence of our Governor continues to ignore the call for responsible leadership and find a way to reduce the size of government and make departments more efficient."

"There must be a voice for the Maryland middle class family," said Lollar, "and Americans for Prosperity will continue to be that voice. Our aim is to equip Marylanders with these budgetary non-partisan solutions in hope that our leadership would hear and execute on behalf of their Maryland Citizens. We can no longer bear additional taxation, overlooked struggling school systems and an economic infrastructure that continues to drive business out of our state and take needed jobs with them!"
