this info should be published everywhere; newspapers, internet, government websites etc.
there is no excuse for this. normally if this was the private sector i would say great. whatever the public will pay is up to them. but these are our tax dollars and we should have a definate say in this matter. if more people know the facts they would be outraged. just sayin'.......

The statistic this fails to incorporate is that fact that a disproportionate amount of government jobs require advanced degrees (scientist for DNR's, teachers, administrators, engineers, ect) when compared to the entirety of the private work sector. If you actually look at the education + experience levels of comparable private and public sector jobs in the state, public employee pay falls short by close to 10%

For that kind of money, they can all "gratify me orally". I think you know what I mean, but it wouldn't be appropriate to say it in a public forum.

I say about time teachers got paid what they deserve! Awesome!

1:50-The problem is the public sector has no checks and balances when it comes to efficiency/productivity. Private sector companies have to make payroll, and have to be efficient to survive and thrive. Our gov't thrives on shaking down the taxpayers through bloated and inefficient "work". Examine the difference in administrative costs from the public sector(or the military, which is an area I'm experienced with) and the private sector. See how much more money is wasted through the many levels of bureaucracy. Our public sector needs to be cost effective, and at that it fails miserably.

Remember folks, salary is not the whole picture. IIRC, there is some sort of deal where there is no health plan, retirement plan, benefits, etc... I think the deal was that money was paid for the employee to do with as they please (retirement, health, etc...). I'm not sure the quoted numbers are all they are cracked up to be.
