Package Addressed To Homeland Security Chief Ignites In D.C.

A piece of mail addressed to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano ignited Friday at a U.S. Postal Service facility in Washington, a day after suspicious letters "flared up" at state government buildings in neighboring Maryland, authorities said.

Police said no one was injured.

FBI spokeswoman Lindsay Godwin said initial information indicated the parcel that ignited in northeast Washington about 2:45 p.m. was similar to the two packages opened in Maryland on Thursday.

A postal worker at the D.C. facility tossed the package into a sorting bin, and when another package was tossed on top, it "flashed" and then quickly went out, an official told NBC News.
The postal facility was evacuated and no one was hurt.

Federal officials confirmed to NBC News that the package was addressed to Napolitano.

The postal facility handles government mail in northeast Washington, a law enforcement official told WRC-TV.

Earlier Friday, investigators revealed that two packages sent to Maryland's governor and transportation secretary that ignited when they were opened contained the same note railing against highway signs urging motorists to report suspicious activity.

The message read: "Report suspicious activity! Total Bull----! You have created a self fulfilling prophecy."

Citizens feeling out the defenses. They know it. And it is scaring the absolute hell out of them....Look for a "false flag" operation, some kind of new "terrorist threat" that will necessitate curfews, or even stricter "security measures" when its not OUR security they're worried about. things are gonna ratchet up pretty fast in the next couple of years. The economy and their inability to stop a collapse is the biggest threat. What can they do? Nothing.

Imclain is right. But I don't agree that it will take a couple of years to rathcet up. I believe this year will hold a huge increase in anti-tyrannnical government activity. The number of people becoming sick and tired of the government forcing it's will down their throats is getting larger every day. Unless our elected officials turn around 180 degrees immediately and get back to the constitution as the instrument used to restrain the government, it's likely to get a lot worse.

7:48 you and Imclain are the type of dummies driving this country into the ground. Key word 7:48, is "elected officials". Sorry you guys can't seem to convince enough people that the unemployed and minorities are lazy freeloaders and anyone not thumping their bible and wearing US flag shirts is antiamerican.

6:06....you are one of the dummies that needs to learn to read and follow REAL events in history. At no point and NOWHERE in that post did I even MENTION the "unemployed", or "freeloaders" or "bible thumping" or "(WTF?) "flag shirts". Wake up from your dream and critize me for something I said, NOT for something YOU make up, or WISH I said. What a dunce. The FACTS (you hate them, don't you) without question, show a constant erosion and, in some cases, total repudiation of the rights our families have fought and died for....and the economy? Don't ask your boy Obama, but very other person with half a brain will tell you we have debt now that we have NO HOPE of ever repaying. THAT FACT will be a very serious issue in the next few years. And it is worrying the hell out of ALL governments, across the globe. Not just ours. Now go back to sleep.
