Howard Stern May Have To Take A Pay Cut

Sirius exec hints that radio host won't get another $100 million a year

Howard Stern could broadcast live on Sirius XM for the last time on Dec. 16.
After that, he heads for his annual end-of-year vacation and there still is no decision as to whether he'll renew his contract, which expires on Dec. 31 and sets Sirius XM back a hefty $100 million every year.
Speaking at a UBS investor conference in New York on Monday, Sirius XM CFO David Frear said he is "hopeful" that Stern sticks with the company, but hinted that if he does it would be for less money.

Stern deserves all the money he wants, if you can't afford him don't pay. Sirius will go out of business without him. Stern made this company to grow from 600K to 20 millions.

I don't listen to Stern ... and I believe that there are many others like me who don't care for his brand of coarse language.

He certainly is overpaid for his rants, and the market place has determined this as well.

It wasn't Stern who made the company grow to over 20 million subscribers, rather it was the merger with XM that did this.

I am an XM lifetime subscriber, and the reason I initially chose XM over Sirius was I wanted the satellite service that did not carry Stern.

Actually XM survived only because they merged with Sirius.
While I understand that some people don't like his style, there is no doubt that he is the sole reason that sattelite radio reached the number of subscribers that it has.
Stern interviewed with XM before he went with Sirius and told him that if they don't hire him, he will drive them out of business and he did exactly that. XM HAD to merge to survive. Sirius had more subscribers at the time of merger.
What did XM offer, that Sirius didn't? Noone cares about NASCAR and MLB.
Also, merger should have happenned earlier, if it was not for conservative FCC morons on the hill trying to block it.

Stern is a genius and if he leaves Sirius/XM, the company will never be what it is today.
If you don't like him, don't listen.

BABABOOEY!!!
