SAN FRANCISCO — A federal appeals court extended the military's ban on gays serving openly Monday by indefinitely freezing a judge's order halting enforcement of the so-called "don't ask, don't tell" law, heightening pressure on the Obama administration to persuade the U.S. Senate to repeal the law before a new Congress is sworn in.
A divided three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted the U.S. government's request for a stay while it challenges the trial court's ruling that the ban on openly gay service members is unconstitutional.

There should be a full ban on gays!
the public doesnt want gays, military personnel dont want gays, military officers dont want gays, most goverment officials dont want them...so why are tehse judges going against the will of the people
Before dropping the ban the least our government could do is to legalize the sex act which identifies a person as "gay".
Sodomy has been illegal and considered immoral for CENTURIES. Why? Because it is filthy and unsanitary.
What hodunk backwards idiots we have on the shore. I'm sometimes ashamed that I'm from here. They're willing to put their lives on the line for our freedom. Think about it.
10:53 The Supreme Court struck down all sodomy laws years ago. You might want to get informed before you post.
11:06 I'm straight fool!
12:18 Doubtful ! You might still be in the closet but you are gay! get help!
Dude I'm married. Usually the ones who are self-righteous or homophobic are the ones with the issues. I think you need the help, Bud.
1:12 I'm glad your married and I'm sure your husband is a nice man but being gay is a illness.
Wow, when God passed out idiot genes, you got a double dose, huh? FYI, I'm married to a woman (not a transgendered one, a natural-born one). I don't think being gay is an illness. I think gay people know they're gay just like we know we're straight. Live and let live. Peace!
you're allowed to hate anyone in this country for whatever reason... but i really can't think of any reason for telling someone volunteering to die for their country (ya know, so you can sit home on your couch and whine on the internet about "dem dern gays always wanna sleep with me") that they are not good enough to carry out that task
6:44 Your hate speech and intolerance of an opposing opinion shows why people like you don't belong in the military defending my rights!
