MD Primary – Wicomico County Executive

Republican Primary -

Candidate Joe Ollinger has no opposition.

Democratic Primary -

Incumbent Rick Pollitt has two primary opponents, Tom Taylor and John Wayne Baker. While we have been a frequent critic of Pollitt’s during his first term, it is our belief that he deserves to be re-nominated for a second term.

Pollitt’s experience, as a town administrator and as County Executive, count. While we don’t always agree with Pollitt’s approach to fiscal matters, he has shown himself to be a stable influence during these tough economic times.

Pollitt is a good man, and a good manager. Absolutely he deserves another term, because he has done well in hard times.

What is wrong with letting someone else do the job?

This guy seems to look out for the interest of the rich instead of the regular citizen.

It seems that you are just trying to pick winners, not supporting the candidates that would probably do the best job. Pollitt is just your typical tax and spend democrat and anyone else could do as well or better so someone else should be given the opportunity.

anonymous 1:04, that was just a stupid comment and I can probably take one guess as to who stupid is.

Nevertheless, we took quite some time debating this as well as many years of political experience to make the endorsements we chose to present.

Now, you're welcome to vote for whomever you choose.

"Done well in hard times"? How, exactly?

Pollitt has clearly shown us that he is an administrator and not an executive. He has avoided making the tough decisions that needed to be made from his first day in office.

The County needs far better if it is to survive several more years of economic turmoil

2:16pm So true. That's why we need to elected strong members to the County Council so they can keep him in check. Pollitt is going to win hands down. He then will need the oversight from the council and if they are the right people they will steer the ship in the right direction.

Having been in the presence of and listened to all three candidates, this Democrat believes either John or Tom are superior to Pollitt in the areas that are sorely needed in government.

It is a toss up for me, but I am leaning towards Baker....he really tells it like it is, and is probably more qualified than all the candidates, including the Republican.

Endorsing Pollitt is kind of like endorsing a fox to guard the hen house.

I had a dealing with Tom Taylor recently and he was was ANYTHING but professional. I can honestly say that he is rude and ridiculous. He will NEVER get my vote or the vote of my family or staff. Good job Tom! Way to put your foot in your mouth...hope ot was worth it.

Tom Taylor is a good man. You obviously do not know him well.

Hello Pollitt, good bye tax cap! He's tried his best to get rid of the cap and if he is given 4 more years he will probably succeed.

9:06 pm and if Cowall and Taylor get elected to the council he will then have his votes to do so.(assuming Sample-Hughes & Macloud get re-elected)
