GREENJACKETS SHUTOUT SHOREBIRDS, 3-0, IN GAME TWO

Bundy’s Consecutive Scoreless Innings Streak Ends at 19.2

Salisbury, Md.
– Three Augusta pitchers combined to four-hit the Shorebirds in a 3-0 shutout win for the GreenJackets on Saturday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The Delmarva Shorebirds have lost three straight games.

The GreenJackets plated the first run against Bobby Bundy in the third inning. Nick Liles hit a double off the left field wall. Three batters later, Ryan Cavan hit a single to give Augusta a 1-0 lead.

Augusta plated two more runs in the sixth inning. Cavan led off with a single. Skyler Stromsmoe was hit by a pitch to put two men aboard. Then, Hector Sanchez hit a triple to right-center field to plate both runners.

Bobby Bundy allowed five hits and three runs in 5.2 innings pitched. The three runs scored against him were the first runs he has surrendered since August 16. Bundy struck out six and walked four.

James Brandhorst tossed 2.1 scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit. David Walters tossed a perfect ninth inning.

Augusta starter Jeremy Toole earned his sixth win of the season. He tossed six shutout frames and allowed just two hits. Jose Valdez held the Shorebirds in check in the seventh and eighth innings while Jose Casilla picked up his 14th save of the season by throwing a flawless ninth inning.

The Shorebirds and GreenJackets play game three of the series on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. RHP Brent Allar makes the start for Delmarva.
