Obamacare Repeal? 150 House Signatures Already

A plan that would enable members of the U.S. House of Representatives to repeal Obamacare – whether health care takeover advocate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants it or not – is continuing to gain momentum.

In just the last few days, another 17 names have been added to the discharge petition sponsored by U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa.

With a total of 150 names now, King told WND the effort is moving forward as quickly as he could expect.

King told WND today the entire GOP leadership team in the House is on board, as well as the full delegations from California and Texas. He's working on obtaining the last few GOP signatures before turning his attention to the Democrats.

This is so much crap. All it amounts to is posturing and politics. No one actually believes this.

Actually, at least 150 Congressional reps do believe it, 5:15.
Your comment is the crap and posturing.
We should all call Frank Kratovil and urge him to sign on to this-- it would certainly help his chances in November.

I wrote all 3 of my reps to ask them to get on this bandwagon. Here is Mikulski's response:

Thank you for getting in touch with me about health care reform. It's good to hear from you.

I appreciate hearing your opposition to the health care reform bills that have been signed into law - the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law 111-148) and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act (Public Law 111-152). While these bills are not perfect, I am proud of what we were able to accomplish. We passed a health reform law that saves and strengthens Medicare; makes sure insurance companies can't discriminate against you because of a pre-existing condition, or because of your age or gender; provides universal access to health care, and emphasizes quality, prevention and integrative health to save lives and save money. These are the principles of health reform that I have been committed to and have been fighting for throughout my career.

The health reform bills will also improve our economy by reducing the federal deficit by $143 billion over the next ten years.

As we move forward, I do believe America will be better served by having guaranteed access to affordable, comprehensive, quality health care.

Thanks once again for writing. Please let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Sincerely,
Barbara A. Mikulski
United States Senator

No answer yet from the other two... November is coming...

Mrs Obama is on a crusade about obesity, so why does she not get Barb to stand up with her. If Barbara gets much bigger, she will need her own Zip Code.

Health care will be repealed or I fear a bloody civil war.

150 members of the House can't repeal anything. A new law, rescinding the old one, would have to be passed, presumably over the veto of Pres. Obama. So, it would need 2/3 of the House and 2/3 of the Senate also.

So, those 150 members can talk about repeal all they want, but they're hundreds of votes in Congress away from pulling it off.

Let's petition Kratovil to sign on, after all, he voted AGAINST the bill.

Of course, he had permission from Pelosi to vote NO, but he failed to vote YES on discharge petition that would have sent the bill back for further 'study'.
How pathetic!

He claimed he voted NO due to certain reservations, YET if that were true he would have voted yes on discharge petition.

Frank's reasoning appears quite lacking.

Wrong, Fruitland- it's a procedural move that needs 218 signatures to force a vote-- kinda like pulling it back through the keyhole of the door.
If 218 sign, they will vote for repeal, too..

Just you wait...many BIG employers, those within that Fortune 100 are looking very closely at the penalties for NOT providing health insurance to their employees. It's cheaper to pay the penalties.

Yep, it's coming.

You better prepare yourself for what Obama and Congress are planning to do with your 401K,they are going to take over all private retirement plans and have the Social Security Admin. handle your money. If you want just Google "take over of 401K."
