BREAKING NEWS: Shots Fired In Salisbury

Shots were fired at 716 East Road in Salisbury. Salisbury News also learned the Police were called to this same address earlier today. We've just been informed, (so far) that no one was hit. They do have a subject there with chest pain. More to come......

Maybe the Chief of Police will think now is an "appropriate time" to make a statement. Its sad when you wake up in the middle of the night to check the locks for the 3rd or 4th time. This place has gone to hell.

This is NOT the rural AMERICA we have lived in all our lives, know well and remember. It's a sad testiment for our times to see how far we've fallen. It IS time for every one of us to stand up and teach our children how to behave within society. It's just unfortunate that so many either can't or won't.

Soon it won't be about just locking your doors, it WILL be about opening them with weapons drawn.

Don't forget...the Chief has to call the Mayor first....after all he is "the boss". I know I'm impressed(NOT). Salisbury's new motto--same crap....different day.

Yes, sadly this place has gone to hell. I've been praying for our community and trying to be more vigilant about watching for crime and suspicious activity and reporting it. God Bless our town.

The Mayor wont let the police chief make a statement about crime. The Mayor wont make a statement. It is clear they are clueless and know the situation is out of control. Let me make a statement Mayor. alisbury is out of control and your police department is doing nothing to stop the wave of violence. Its like the OK coral and yor more worried about speeding and parking tickets than real crime. Stick your heads in the sand and we'll fend for ourselves. What a joke.

Police respond after the crime , when will you guys get it in your head. Police can't stop murder , they can't stop robberies , they can't stop crime. they respond after the crime . Nobody will punish the criminals ,so crime will continue. Anyone who argues this is full of $hit.Just like your president.

This isn't news, East Road has always had crime problems, especially at the end where the DPL transfer station is, so what?

What happened to that "we are ready to rock task force" the sheriff was pimping? Guess he was not so ready to rock after all. Great job! Continue your bang up investigation into the tire slashers and mailbox bashers. What a laughable excuse for a law enforcement department.

Let them kill each other off. It's more effective them sending them to court just to be released in a couple of months costing the tax payer thousands of dollars.

You have to treat these thugs just as you would terrorist. Search and Destroy. Most of these individuals have criminal records.

Tidewaterbound you are correct. We need to teach our children what it means to take responsibilty for their OWN actions.
We are going back to the cowbuy days where you carry a gun, shoot then ask questions. Sad

Jim Ireton looked like an a$$ on tv last nite. Like an insolent child. Behavior like that is usually exhibited when you are not in control and have no idea what to do or say. Ridiculous. Gagging the police chief was not the thing to do either, if that is what happened. This did nothing to enhance his image or instill and confidence.
Is there anyone who is willing and CAPABLE of stepping up to the plate and making the hard decisions to get our city back in order?
