Signs Local Beavers Thriving On Eastern Shore?

Yesterday we were out fishing with our Grandson and noticed several trees chopped down by a local Beaver. I'm told you don't see this very often around here. Do you have Beavers near you?

I saw one that has been hit by a car in front of the Ward Museum the other day. And it had been a long time since I had seen one..dead or alive.

A friend of mine has a problem with them on his farm outside of Delmar.

there are several within a mile of where you live, Joe. My Parent's place just up the street from you is bordered by a creek, and there is at least 2 in that creek that I know of.

We go fishing most days of the week. At least 2 - 3 days a week we see beavers at various locations.
...but hey there aren't gangs on delmarva either right!?!?!?

I have never seen a beaver around here. However, what the earlier commenter may have seen in front of the ward museum could have been a Nutria. Look them up. They look just like Beaver's except they have red teeth and are invasive. The were originally introduced from South America by fur farmers.

I watched two beavers through my scope last year right behind my house.

12:12 Beaver are abundant around here. I know what a Nutria is and how they got here. If you want to question it call the DNR as they regularly tag them to keep track.

9:43... I saw that big dude the day he was hit...but did you see this? Right near where he was hit was another tiny baby beaver hit and cast to the gutter! The baby's body was still there today. Sad.
