ANNAPOLIS — The Maryland Senate has endorsed a measure that would protect people from lawsuits if they use deadly force to defend themselves at home or work in certain circumstances.
Senators voted 45-2 Monday in favor of the bill. The legislation says a person must “reasonably” believe the lethal force is necessary to fend off the attack. It also stipulates that the amount and nature of the force must be “reasonable.”
Current law in Maryland says a person must not use deadly force unless they believe they are in danger of serious bodily injury.
The bill now moves to the House of Delegates for consideration.

Its not worth 2cents without the Castle law
There does not have to be a law. I will protect my home, family, and myself, with deadly force if necessary, period.
Who were the two that voted against it?
Go ahead . . . make my day!
So when do we get the right to carry the weapon to defend ourselfs with?
It's very simple, you break into my home, you will meet your maker. Say hello for me.
If you break into my house you break my law. Game Over
A step in the right direction, now contact your elected representatives and tell them to take the next step.
Is this the same measure used by Police when using force?
1:09 the right of which you speak is conveyed at birth. It is the right of self-defense and is endowed upon us by our creator and is recognized by the second amendment.
This is where the problem arises. The first responsibility of government is to protect the country and the rights of the people. This has not happened. The government has systematically stripped the people of the rights endowed upon them by their God. Exercising right of self defense is punished in the school system where one is suspended for fighting back in self-defense thereby creating an entire generation of victims. It is extended to adults in our society by abridging the right of self defense. No law is necessary, nor should a law be permissable, to "permit" someone to defend themselves. The entire premise of such a law is ludacris. When did it come to pass that "man" would be permitted to override a natural or God's law?
If someone comes into my house "uninvited" they will be immediately dispatched without regard to what the government determines to be an appropriate level of force.
I find the entire issue to be a monumental waste of taxpayers money.
