TROOPERS ARREST MAN ON CDS CHARGES

On March 11, 2010 at 2:18 am, A Trooper from the Salisbury Barrack of the Maryland State Police was on Rt. 13 at Main Street in Salisbury when he observed a male subject urinating on the side of the Royal Farms store. The Trooper turned into the parking lot to make contact with the subject who had gotten on a scooter and was traveling down Rt. 13 towards Church Street. The Trooper stopped the subject and subsequently arrested him for driving while intoxicated. A search of the subject incident to his arrest revealed an amount of crack cocaine on his person. Charles Merrill Schoolfield, Jr., 44, of Salisbury, was charged with DUI, Driving while suspended, indecent exposure, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is awaiting a hearing with a commissioner.

TROOPERS ARREST WOMAN FOR OBSTRUCTING AND HINDERING AN INVESTIGATION

On March 11, 2010 at 3:20 am, A Trooper from the Salisbury Barrack of the Maryland State Police stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of the Royal Farms store on Rt. 13 and Main Street in Salisbury for a traffic violation. The Trooper detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver of the vehicle and was speaking with the driver outside of her vehicle. The front seat passenger of the vehicle, Lashonda E. Joyner, 24, of Salisbury, exited the vehicle and began to interfere with the Troopers investigation. Joyner was arrested for obstructing and hindering an investigation. Joyner was taken to WCDC where she is awaiting a hearing with the District Court Commissioner.
