Incentives Driving Toyota Sales Up, Exec Says
Automaker sees increase in sales of about 50 percent over March 2009
ERLANGER, Ky. - For consumers, cash seems to be paving over worries about unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles as deep incentives have helped to fill its showrooms during the past few weeks.
A high-ranking Toyota executive said the auto company's North American sales spiked around 50 percent the first eight days of March. Don Esmond, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota Motor Sales, said in an interview Tuesday that the early numbers surpassed the company's expectations.

They are offering 0% financing for 60 months. They have alot to make up for. I won't drive one, I'm scared to.

score one for the government (the owner of two major auto manufacturers)
I have so much faith and confidence in toyota I am letting my wife drive ours!
Until they fix the "electronic" problem for the acceleration issues, I will NOT be buying a Toyota and Toyota has been on the top of my list for many years!
Just great ! Get a pocket full of money and a car that won't stop ! ! !
I drive a Toyota. why don't you get behind me so i can move you out of my way with all of your fullish nonsense!!!
My question is this; The two latest incidences; Were these drivers Union members????
12:37 I wish I thought of that before I spent 20K on a divorce.
the government likes tell us what we can and cant buy vehicle wise .... like certain models from europe and create stupid safety standards ... why dont they just make up a law or standard that all new cars be equipped with an Emergency Shutoff like motorcycles or that they cannot have computerized throttle systems only cable/mechanical throttles
7:46, Toyota's do have an emergency shutoff, it's called the ignition key.
Neutral works fine, too.
If they had an emergency shutoff that family in california would not have been killed.... and alot of new toyota's do not have ignition keys they have that stupid push button. there needs to be a specific engine kill system for these cars that have the push button. And Computerized throttle systems need to go. cable actuated ones are much safer and are proven. all Toyota cars need to stop being sold until there is a proven fix and the ones that are out there need to be pulled from the road until they are declared safe or are converted to a diffrent throttle system
