THANK YOU!!!

Thank you! Two simple words that carry alot of meaning. If you would like to thank someone who helped you during this record setting blizzard, please leave a comment for them.

I would like to thank God for getting my family thru this blizzard without any major problems. I am truly blessed and thankful for the extra time I was able to spend with my family. My brother came and stayed with us for a few days and helped shovel me out. Thanks Ron!

I'd like to extend a HUGE "Thank you, God Bless you" to Lee Richardson who ya'll got to see on 1/31 when he came to my rescue, and he's been here twice since. Especially this last Thursday afternoon. I had been able to dig out one side, but the other was closed in with 4' drifts about 20' up the drive. I was so exhausted and there was no way I could get it done.

To the cousin of Lee who chimed in last week--please email me (click on me, you can) and let me know an address, I have something to send to him.

--Thanks Joe, I wasn't sure how to post my thanks and hope it reaches "My Guardian Angel".

I would like to thank Pat Hurley of Delmar, Del for plowing out my lane and the entire neighborhood (it seemed like), and not just from one storm but from each of them. He is definitely a neighbor who goes above and beyond for his fellow man. I would just like to say "Thank you, Pat."

I would like to thank Billy Adkins of Line Church Road, Delmar. I chased this man down on his tractor Monday to ask him for his assistance in our driveway. He was gracious enough to return on Thursday.... after he had spent the entire day in town providing assistance.

Jay Wade and "Buggy Davis" you are the best neighbors !!! We would have never been able to get home if it hadn't been for you. the drifts were too high for us to tackle. Brian and Karen Davis - we are so blessed to have you as "family". thank you for giving us a place to stay for a couple of nights. L & C

The people in princess anne are very nice and helpful. Thanks

Thank you Mike Williams...for pulling my car out of this mess, towing it to a safe area and clearing a portion of the cul-de-sac that the city wouldn't even think about plowing or salting, and it's a city street!! You were way too kind but it's much appreciated! :)

I'd like to thank Bruce Hunter, for starters. Each and every time we reach out to do something good for the community, Bruce is right there participating.

I'd also like to thank Bob from Bob's Automotive Repair on Waller Road. If it wasn't for Bob and Susan, ALL of those driveways and walkways would not have been completed. Bob has been working pretty much daily to keep that snow blower up and running and not a day goes by where I call him and say, uh, Bob, I've got another problem. His reply, Joe, just bring it by and we'll take a look at her. He has not charged me a penny for all of his time, so thank you Bob & Susan.

Finally, I'd like to thank ALL of you for making such a HUGE difference here on the Eastern Shore.

While some of my critics have been ragging on me for publishing pictures of us out there clearing driveways and so forth, my thoughts all along have been, if you see me out there doing it, perhaps it will encourage others to do the same. It worked and that's all there is to it. IMHO, it's one thing to say you'll be doing something. It's another to prove it.

That being said Nay Sayers, what have YOU done for your community?

Nevertheless, thank you Folks, ALL of you. We got a lot done and there's still a LOT of healing left in Salisbury but we're getting there.

It's one thing to fight for change in local government but it's another to participate in fulfilling POSITIVE change for one and all. Together we're going to make the Eastern Shore the finest place on earth to live and raise our children. So again, I THANK YOU!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Tommy Elliott & Bill Melvin on Robin Hood Road.....thank you for plowing us out AGAIN! Thanks so much for plowing us out on Robin Hood Road, you are sooooo appreciated. Thanks for plowing a path for the ambulance to get through to those who needed them.

Also, a big Thank you to Ryan "Sorry about your mailbox"--you are a great neighbor too, thanks for putting a new one up for us too--although we wouldn't have been upset if you didn't!

You guys are the BEST! People like you are the reason Delmar DE is such a wonderful place to live!

I am just so grateful for all the help I've received from Lee, and while I've looked in the phone book for a name and address, the voices on the answering machines are definitely NOT his.

So for any who can let me know, please do. I would like to contact the correct party with my thanks, I know my family owes him so much.

I'd like to thank my mom's neighbor Jamie in hebron. Her family dug my mom out the first sonw while i was snowed in and when her gass ran out on wednesday Jamie let her stay the night with them untill her gass was filled the next day (my husband and i were at work and couln't get home). She has always been a good friend to my mom but this just proved how good a friend she really is.
I would also like to say 'thank you' to the person that plowed her development---not once but twice they dumped snow to block my mom's driveway (she is almos 70) and took care of their 'friends' and made sure their driveways stayed clear, this didn't go un-noticed by myself and others. I truely beleive in Karma!!

Thank you to the two unidentified drivers who tried to pull me out of a drift on Norris Twilley Road Thursday and ended up getting stuck themselves; Sam Rounds, who got his tractor within a quarter of me and saw that he would get the tractor stuck if he came any further; the young man who got stuck within walking distance of his house; the neighbor who who came behind the snowplow trying to get the last mile home but couldn't; and the gentleman from the snowplow who had not been home in over a day. I turned around and saw shovels flying as the last three gentlemen dug around my van; then the three of them got behind my van and pushed me out.

And on behalf of of all the peopele Joe has helped, thank you. Snow like this can bring out the worst in people, and it can bring out the best. We had a lot of "bests."

A big Thanks to Phil Williams-Hebron for clearing our driveway with his tractor. Our lane is long and the snow was DEEP!! Phil even came back later in the day while my husband and I were at work to clear it again. Snow bound with a small child and an elderly mother, it was nice to have a wonderful neighbor to call upon should an emergency arise. We live on Rockawalkin between Levin Dashiell and Rt. 50 and if you have been watching this blog you know what a mess this area is even still today. Thanks again Phil!
