Found Dog In Pittsville

Mr. Albero:

We hope you can help us. Today a dog wandered in to the Pittsville Library in Pittsville, Maryland. He is a tan and white male boxer. He appears to be an older guy with lots of gray around the face. He has lots of little bumps on his nose and some marks on his skin in various areas. He was wearing a blue collar with multi colored designs on it (no tags). He is extremely friendly around adults and kids and even knew the sit command. He was a bit on the skinny side and was dirty like he had been on the road a bit. It appeared he had a couple of lipomas on his side as well.

He was almost hit by a car and with the bad weather coming up he was taken to the Humane Society where they said they would keep him for 6 days and after 6 days if his temperment and health are ok he would be put up for adoption. His temperment is wonderful and he seemed healthy to a non-trained eye. I have attached two photos of him. If you could post a little something on your site about him, perhaps his family will see him and be able to go get him or perhaps a reader who is looking for a great older buddy may want to adopt him if he is not claimed. He is a wonderful old guy who seemed very lost and in need of a friend.

Thank you!

poor guy, my boxer, is six, and he's almost as grey, so he might not be as old as he appears. Boxers are the best dogs. Sweet and loving. great with kids. and also, protective. just the best dogs around.

wonderful dog. I could cry for he looks a lot like our boxer that I had to give away when my husband died and I had to leave the island. Ours was female and her name was Brandy. Best Dogs in the world............someone surely that has property would want this loving dog.......

My boxer is so human like and such a lover. He is also the best alarm system you can have.

I love the kind-hearted people of this area who look after animals and write amazing things like this.

Joe, your service of helping lost animals (and their lost families!) is a wonderful thing.
