OPERATION DECEMBER SWEEP

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Barrack in Salisbury engaged in a high intensity criminal enforcement initiative on Friday December 4th. The all day initiative took Troopers all over Wicomico County as they conducted warrant sweeps and saturation patrols.

The initiative was comprised of eight Troopers, working diligently in traffic and criminal enforcement in an effort to identify and apprehend criminal violators. As the Holiday season approaches, the potential for crime increases dramatically.

The effort netted three CDS arrests, one warrant arrest, 32 warnings and 9 citations.
This initiative is a part of a continued commitment by Maryland State Police to make Wicomico County a safer place to live and work. Citizens are reminded to stay aware of their surroundings in their travels and to secure property and belongings. Lock vehicles, secure packages in trunks and keep houses and vehicles locked at home. Also, report suspicious activity to police immediately.

Sgt. Bricker of the Maryland State Police in Salisbury added, “The Salisbury Barrack will continue to allocate resources to help combat criminal activity in and around Wicomico County. Future initiatives are already on the drawing board.”

Shows what can be accomplished when a law enforcement organization, led by a competent Chief/Commander can accomplish. Imagine how fewer citizens would have been assaulted/robbed/shot if the City of Salisbury's Police Dept had senior officials dedicated to the safety and welfare of the public.
Salisbury Police Dept. has good officer's; unfortunately, the issue is at the top.
