anonymous 10:12, Alexa, (owned by Google) rates ALL of the Websites around the World.

While there are some 7 billion in the Unites States, Salisbury News is now ranked 133,836 in the US.

Google is #1 and they go up from there. When you get below 100,000, you're in what they call the Major Leagues, right up there with ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, etc..

Considering Salisbury News is just a local Blog, being ranked where we are right now is almost unheard of.

The more traffic you get, the better your ratings are with Alexa/Google. Other local Blogs are ranked between 2,000,000 to 10,000,000. Once you get below 200,000 it's very difficult to continue to get lower numbers, the goal is to get as close to #1 as possible.

However, if you're 2,000,000 or above, your numbers can change drastically from one day to the next because you only get about 50 hits a day. If you have a good day and it goes to 100 hits a day, you're numbers will change.

The Post is more for those who are in the business of Blogging as they truly understand that the numbers Salisbury News has been given is something to be very proud of. It also shows that with the right kind of dedication and hard work, raching these numbers is in fact possible.

Who would have thought that a local Blog on the Eastern Shore, (when you have Baltimore, Washington and Annapolis) could have achieved such numbers.

It's because you're so awesome, Joe. Where do you stand against local news websites: boc, mdt, daily times?

Your popular because you tell it like it is. I have said for years people of Salisbury should know the things that go on around here the other newspapers and news on tv don't let anyone know the truth on how bad it is.You can put a lot of thanks on social services a parent should be allowed to spank their child; not abuse; without them being threatened with jail. Wouldn't be all the trouble there is now.
