1.) The Salisbury Kennel Club Dog Show on Saturday was very well attended and the Show was once again a success. I'd like to thank the Kennel Club for bringing in so much money to the local economy.
2.) Salisbury News also noticed the following. If you look closer at the image above by clicking on it, you'll see the new ceiling tiles Fernando bought for the Civic Center. Ever since the ShowTime event, the Civic Center realized that the place was simply looking like crap and since that time they have started replacing the tiles.
One more fight at the Civic Center and who knows, maybe ALL of the ceiling tiles will finally be in place. That is, until the next Monster Truck Event. I know I wouldn't want that job, would you!

Maybe the city or county council can apply for a grant from the stimulus; after all we received the funds for a new fireboat, and it will contribute to local economy!
The community service and jail guys do all the work overthere anyway.
um 12:54, no your wrong "jail guys" dont do that kind of work - that is a Riggers job & just anyone cannot do that, need about 10+ yrs experience doing shows, and if any one of them read that comment, they would be pretty offended, believe me. and the tiles are like that because when you hang a lighting truss it has to go up in the ceiling, PAST the tiles, so yes in order for a show, concert, play, boxing match or anything to look good they must remove some tiles to hang lights & other stage equipment. Sorry for the eye sore, but think about HOW things are built before you comment on how something looks, probably not the fault of the stagehands working there - but thanks for noticing how hard our job can be!

FYI... the replacing of the tiles was in process BEFORE the Fernando fight. I am a former Rigger at the civic center, and I thank 2:58 for their comment. My brother is the Head Rigger at the civic center now. The community service and jail ppl help out the maintenance crew there.. NOT the stage crew. PPL really have no idea what goes into putting on the shows there. Hundreds sometimes Thousands of man hours have to go into putting a show together and then again to take it down. The stagehands get very little thanx for their HARD WORK, and very little compensation if you consider that the pay rates are no where near what you would get for the same job in dc, bmore or philly. You may think that anyone can do this kind of job but I beg to differ. I encourage anyone who thinks that just anyone can go in there and rig to give it a shot. I bet you get to the catwalk (if you're allowed too) and you piss your pants looking down on how high up you are.
