Delaware State Police are investigating the homicide of a 78 year-old elderly woman.
Troopers were called to the Donovan – Smith Trailer Park before noon today after a “Meals on Wheels” worker discovered the body. McCarson was found in her front living room where she appeared to be the victim of an apparent homicide.
Troopers found her trailer was unsecured and there were signs of a brief struggle. The motive for the killing is unknown and the investigation is still on going.
McCarson was last seen yesterday at 3:30 p.m.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy for the exact cause and manner of death.
