A Call To Action

This is an urgent call to action because crime in Salisbury is out of control.

Crime doesn’t care if you’re conservative, liberal or middle of the road.

Crime doesn’t care if you’re Republican, Democrat or Independent.

Crime doesn’t care if you’re an employee or a business owner.

The question is…

Who DOES care about stopping the crime in Salisbury that threatens our lives and livelihoods, families, students, the elderly?

This Monday night, November 9th at 6 p.m., at the Government Office Building, face the Salisbury City Council 3-member majority and ask:

"Will you continue to support the rising crime rate or will you take action against crime, starting now?"

During Public Comment, state your name and full address, keep it civil, keep it brief, and speak from your heart.

No one else should have to suffer at the hands of criminals because three officials want to play politics.

Join Americans for Prosperity, Progressive Delmarva, and many other citizens in letting their voices be heard.

Maybe the Chief and the Sheriff will admit we have a gang problem !

I think the biggest criminal in this equation has got to be Jim Ireton followed by the 3 cronies on the city council. Jim Ireton lied to us and a liar is a thief.

I am willing to work hard at getting a recall on these clowns if someone gets it initiated.

9:17 you might be wrong in bunching Lewis in with Webster. Never once have I heard Mike Lewis deny gangs. Mike Lewis was presnt at the gang forum with the SA's office. You might want to check your facts or sources.

I'll be there. It's time I got off the sofa watching the city go down the toilet and speak my mind. It is so sad what they have done to Salisbury. Hiding crime and denying gangs so they can entice developers to come here and steal our city. Would the old mall have been removed if the developers knew of the level of crime or the number of gangs in the area?

The gang problem would be easy to resolve if law enforcement could do what they wanted. If you start arresting these kids you had better be prepared for the NAACP, Sharpton, Jackson and the likes of those people to come down on you. It's not about doing what is right, it's all about political correctness and numbers and diversity. It's similar to profiling, if you arrest 10 blacks you had better arrest 10 whites (even if they are not gang members) just to make it fare for all.

You would think the black community would be glad to see the thugs removed from their streets. They too are victims of crime being imprisoned in their own homes. Black on black crime is rising. The only people Sharpton and Jackson would rally would be the thugs. Law abiding, peace loving citizens don't want crime in any neighborhood, no matter the demographic.

9:23 I've talked to his deputies how's that for sources ? His silence on this matter speaks volumes I want crime control not another politician !

Who says the black community would not be glad to see the thugs removed from the community. What does Sharptown and Jackson have to do with our community (10:12)? Crimes begin in the heart. The best way to address crime is to change our individual hearts. Because what's in your heart will eventually manifest into the physical.

The biggest crime is that the citizens are paying for a do nothing and hope it will get better chief of police that isn't worth his weight in whale dung.

The city now has more law suits against it than Joe Albero, doesn't a city attorney attempt to thwart such actions before it gets to that point?

9:17, disagree. Ireton has played by the rule book. That's what has to be done. Webster is trying to run around it.

It comes back to the same three jackasses who think our money flows like water and that Barrie is still mayor.

Time to tell these three to stop their stupid power plays while people are beat up and shot! Worse than fiddling while Rome burns!

9:17,

That comment doesn't even make sense. Ireton is the exact opposite of the 3 member council majority that is stifling this city. Take your Ireton hate rhetoric back to Taylor's blog. We need to do something to help the city, and you just want to stir the sh!t.

First we must thank Sheriff Mike Lewis for being a pro active law enforcer. As far as the gangs in this area they need to be eliminated. So as far as worrying about different people or organization crying don t.The increase in crime goes with the economy. Yes tell Shanie,Louise and Gary you have had enough. Unite as a community and start demanding results. That is your right!! Actions speak louder than words.

not enough money in salisbury for the race pimps to come after us. they want a city they can shake down and get a pay day.

I hate to say it but its true....you would have so many civil rights factions coming out of the woodwork but you know what? They need to get over themselves. They have outlived their usefulness.Where were they when my husband lost his job?Oh,thats right hes WHITE.

Anonymous said...

Why are we talking about Sharpton and civil rights? Do you people want this city cleaned up, or do you want to bicker like children? Go to the meeting and tell the majority that this is out of hand, and to do something about crime.

And stop race baiting and arguing. That's why Salisbury can't get anything done. Unify and FIX THE PROBLEM.

1:53 BRAVO!!!

This is posted on all the blogs. Way to pull together Salisbury.

I haven't seen any law enforcement agency address the gang issue or be proactive . There was a lot of lip service but all I see is speeding and seat belt tickets . If local law enforcement is over it's head then call the National guard and put your pride on the shelf !

Don't forget to ask them about the SFD selection process for the Deputy Cheif. I'm sure Bubba will stutter an answer out if he tries to answer.

3:07 why don't you come out and ask the question yourself? Will be good to get out of the house on a Monday evening.

As an observer of your community, may I say, "Bravo" that two politically opposite groups are leading the call for unity on an issue that effects everyone, and I do mean everyone, as a victim myself.

If you want to take on crime, you have to change the way you've been doing things in the past. If your chief hasn't made progress in years, that's an indicator. If you have political players in office instead of actual representatives, you need to call them out.

Build a movement, people. We did where I am, and it does make a difference. Stop listening to the politicians tell you that you can't fight city hall.

3:25 I'm lucky enough not to live in Salisbury. Close enough to know some of the Vol's who aren't happy about whats going on.

For all the race baiters:

1) cut the BS, WE ALL want to rid our streets of crime

2) black political figures make a show for power just like many white political figures do. It's to be expected but don't equate these figures with the "black community" at large.

3) racial profiling ensnares as many innocent blacks as it does black criminals; this is why we are against it.

4) go after the drugs. "Stop Snitching" scares those who know that the police cannot protect them. It is not some mantra that all black people attest to.

Anonymous said...

ask how much crime has risen since the NO refugees came to town.

Anonymous said...

You make some points however racial profiling works and if someone gets questioned that is innocent what the big deal if it's for the good of the community ?

"if someone gets questioned that is innocent what the big deal if it's for the good of the community ?"

This comment on a blog that rails against socialism, fascism, communism, and any other reference to the restrictions of freedom. How about you start being randomly detained. Lets see how long you decide "oh well, it was for the common good."
