Wilmington Man Arrested For Attempted Murder
Location: 3000 block Killens Pound Road, Harrington, Kent County, DE
Date of Occurrence: Saturday, October 4, 2009 at approximately 11:50 a.m.
Suspect(s): Charleston S. Williams, 40, Wilmington, DE

On Saturday just before noon, officers from Felton and Harrington Police Departments responded to Killens Pound Road outside of Harrington for the report of a stabbing.
When the officers arrived they had found a 28 year-old Harbeson man with a stab wound to the abdomen and one to the back. Police learned that Williams and the victim were attending a parting when the two became involved in an argument. The argument escalated to the point when Williams produced a knife and stabbed the victim once in the abdomen and then once in the back as the victim was attempting to flee. Williams gave chase as the victim ran for more than 100 yards. Williams eventually gave up and fled the scene. The victim was flow to Christiana Hospital near Newark where he was treated for stab wound to the abdomen and a stab wound to the back, which punctured his right lung. He was listed in stable condition after surgery.
Troopers tracked Williams for over a ½ mile where they found a house that was burglarized located in the 100 block of Paris Lane, Felton. When troopers entered the home the only thing that was disturbed was the house phone.
Williams was seen walking along Carpenter Bridge Road by a state trooper a few hours later and was taken into custody
Williams was charged with attempted murder, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited. He was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $50,000 cash bail.
